So I looked like a derp and Jenny (my friend) and this guy walk in and order some icecream. Words cannot describe how hot this guy was (actually they can; swept light brown hair, hazel eyes and he was just mouth watering). Anyways, later that night I did some expert facebook stalking and finally found him. My question is that, is what I did weird?

I would do a natural looking thing, with light brown eye shadow with a tiny bit of eyeliner on the top. Your lips I would do a lip gloss called Covergirl Wetslicks Amazemint the color should be pink positive 600. You don't need Mascara because of your eyelashes, and if you REALLY want the punk look, you should do the punk look then put white eyeshadow over it so it looks less neony, so your mom will hopefully like it.

R.e.m. would be included even though they were big in the eighties as well, however G n' R would not because they are more "hard rock" vs. "alternative." I realize Eddie Vedder would land on top of many lists so plz don't answer Eddie Vedder... he is the exception. Just think "early nineties" and the plethora of grunge/alternative bands that came out of that era.
