DePaul looks like it has a huge variety. I noticed some of the classes are taught under mixed disciplines. Which I think is a positive. I liked the sound of the course on critical thinking. Sometimes universities will only offer a class once every two years or so and it is hard to get in to. So even though the variety is great there is that to look in to. DePaul is also a Catholic school so that might influence the teaching and teachers. UIC looks more basic. But for an undergrad that is what you need. A solid foundation with good teachers. I would strongly suggest going to each campus and talking with a couple professors and students. Maybe even ask to sit in on a class. Student to teacher ratio is also very important. How do you learn best? How many teachers are full time vs. part time?

I'm a junior in high school, and I just received my SAT scores. I couldn't be any more disappointed in myself. My grades in high school don't match up with scores at all. Newly Acquired Fears?

What is this fear that has been growing inside of me? It gets worse every night. This innate fear of everything surrounding me. I am afraid of the dark lately, I have never really been afraid of the dark until recently. And it's not even a rational fear... I am afraid when I am alone in the apartment. I am afraid that someone is walking around outside of my door, even though I triple checked to make sure I locked the doors... Deadbolt and all. I am afraid of keeping my closet open, and I am terrified of the space under my bed. I am not scared that something or someone might pop out of them, its just the fact that they are pitch black and I can't see anything. My heart starts to race, I can't think clearly, I get paranoid, I keep my headboard's light on at night so that way I can see everything that is going on. I get scared when I wake up in the morning to take my shower, what if someone breaks in while I am in there and shoots/stabs me or something? This is why I listen to my music and have it blaring on my radio while I am in there, I am sorry because it probably bugs the woman upstairs but I can't help it, I am terrified. When I am driving anymore, I worry about all the things that could go horrible today. What if I got into a horrible car accident and died; or worse, was in a coma?!?!? I don't want to be a vegetable, and then what if someone pulls the plug and there is a chance of my recovery and I die? I am not the type of person to be as scared of things as I am, and this sucks horribly because I am supposed to be the brave one out of people I talk to. You may look washed out, even though you have darker skin it can still wash you out. If you mix black with indigo it will come out blue black not jet black. Plus I don't think you should dye your hair black, it is always really obvious and tacky looking when people dye their hair black. Baseball Situation: You are a manager and one of your starters is throwing a perfect game....?

There is no way that as a manager I'm taking a kid out of a game that he's pitching a no hitter or a perfect game regardless. Until he gives up that first base hit, he's in there. I'm old school and I get so tired of hearing about pitch counts etc. I might give him extra days to recover but when something that rare comes along you have to give them a chance to do something historical. And I feel the same about a shutout. Until a pitcher gives up that run or tells me he cannot go on, he will get a chance to pitch it. Is a boy's mushroom cut ok for a woman?

Yesterday my wife got her already short hair cut into what I would call a boy's mushroom cut. Basically the top of her hair is cut in a regular short, layered, ladies style, about an inch and a half long. But its the back where it gets interesting, there is a very straight, severe, weight line cut straight across, from top of ear to top of ear. The hair below the line is shaved to stubble. The only time recently that I have seen this hairstyle is on three year old boys. Anyone have a good experience with freshlook colorblends in pure hazel?

Its my first time trying freshlook colorblends or even contacts at all. I have the grey ones in colorblends and they look so natural. I love them. I have very dark brown eyes that could be "black". I ordered pure hazel in colorblends but they havent come in yet and I was wondering how they look and what colors they actually were as I know there are different types of hazel. How can I lose weight while taking antidepressants and medication for bipolar disorder?

I want to and have tried so hard to lose about 15 lbs. but I feel that my medications are preventing me from doing so. My doctor doesn't believe it is the meds. but the weight gain started when I began taking the one for bipolar disorder. I have had anorexia since I was a teenager quite a long time ago but I mostly have it under control now. I mean I have always been very thin and I have often starved myself if my weight went over 105 lbs. Many times I stayed in the low to mid nineties range and that is where I felt most comfortable. However as it is with anorexics I could never quite get thin enough. Now after many years of therapy I feel that I am somewhat better and more accepting of myself at a higher weight. I am not overweight according to the charts for my height but I very uncomfortable with being quite this heavy. Losing the 15 lbs. would still be in the healthy range for my height. But it feels impossible which is totally freaking me out because I have never had trouble losing weight. I am older now so I know my metabolism has slowed some but only 3 years ago I weighed 102 lbs. I have never really known how or been able to follow a diet plan very well. They seem to require you to eat so many times throughout the day and I am not hungry that much so I have to try and force it down. I only know starvation and that no longer works for me. I have tried just cutting back calories but still eating but I read that you should not go below 1500 calories a day. Is this true? I am not getting that many. I am wondering if somehow I messed up my body/metabolism from all the years of abuse with the starving or if I'm not eating enough (which makes no sense to me) or if it is truely the medications. Does anyone have any experience with or knowledge about any of this? Is there a diet that is easy to follow, works, starts giving results quickly and is not very expensive that someone can recommend for me? There are so many out there. Also I'd like to know even more about an exercise program/video with all of the same criteria listed above and that I can do at home and do not have to have a lot of special equipment. Please keep in mind that I have a slight knee problem that would cause too much pain if I participated in any kind of running, jumping, lunges or deep squats. If anyone is on these types of meds. and knows it is that which is causing the problem and that I am out of luck, please let me know that too. You also might try a vinegar and baking soda mixture as that works to take out many different kind of smells but I'm not sure if the vinegar would damage the color of the clothing. What kind of bug bite is this on my toddler's leg?

How concerned should I be regarding this chest pain?

For the past three days, I have been suffering from a very unusual ailment. About three times a day, I have experienced debilitating, localized chest pain for about ten second intervals, with an occasional relapse of dull (but still highly localized) chest pain. For some reason, now when I watch videos, go on safari, or on the facebook app, the video or whatever doesn't respond when I turn my iPhone. Normally, when I turn my iPhone in a ninety degree angle, the video usually does the same so that I don't have to watch an inside down or sideways video. Now that doesn't happen and it is very annoying. There is now an icon on my status bar with a lock and an arrow circling around it. He's almost everything I look for in a guy. If I were you, I would go directly to a dermatologist. He or she would be able to determine the best treatment for your skin that would give you the best results. If you are unable to get to a derm, whether it's because you don't have insurance, can't afford the co-pay, or whatever, I would go with a very very gentle cleanser, and perhaps one with light exfoliation as it will help to remove makeup. Washcloths are also good products to use. You may then follow with a "spot treatment," and non-oily moisturizer. Hope this helps!

Why should gay people have to come out?

I don't like the concept. Why should I have to tell people about some innate characteristic of mine like it really matters at all. What type of Indian am I?

Hey, I live in South Africa. Although I'm of indian descent, I don't exactly know what type of indian I am. My mom says Gujarati/Urdu. I'm also confused between my identity of Indian Vs Muslim. It didnt really bother me at first, but now since i've found out within the last year or so India was invaded by Arabs, so I just see it as an religion we adopted. Although when I did some inquiring by my mom, it appears from my grandmothers side, her family is still hindu, and she speaks tamil. But when she got married to my grandfather, she became muslim. I always associated Hinduism with India, and Islam with Arabs, and since I'm not Arab, I feel a certain disconnect. There are both Indian Muslims/HIndu's where, my moms from. But my family's view towards other Indian's of Hindu heritage is the common view that they Kafir/Nasarah/Pagan-Idol worshippers who are on the wrong path, and nutters. Even though some of our family are themselves Hindu and the community there. We associate with them, but still observe the differences. Dont ask where in India, theyre from cause theyve been out of India since 1800's. Even though I still have an innate love for Islam since I was born to believe it, I can't come to term with the idea, that Arab people invaded India. And there are things that I like about Hinduism, but the philosophy as a whole also has some shortcomings as well, like all the multiple gods and stuff. My grandfathers name was Sheik Hameed Emam Alli, and grandmother's name Sarah Bibi. So you can see his name is still Arabic. And hence mine Hidaayatullah Ahmed. For the most part I dont feel indian at all, within an India context. I dont speak an indian language but my cousin can speak urdu, but more as a second language, and her father gujarati. I feel more South African.And what are Surti and Kokni Indians because we have those people as well, and they have a somehwhat different culture. Thanks.

It doesn't seem to have the same magnitude of impact as Rock and Roll or other music/lifestyle combinations like Rap and Disco. I think it is partly due to the nature of the movement itself. Punk attracts people who try to be different and outcast from society. Therefore, they become dissociated with media ad other channels of promotion that would have likely improved awareness of the movement. In addition, society in general has been prejudice to the dress styles, makeup and hair styles of the punkers. I do remember one girl I met years ago with pink shaved hair and tight black leather pants. She was hot but my conservative Italian mother never would have approved. So, punkers were never given a chance to develop the movement. Society as we know it has suppressed them. Not to compare any attributes, the same social pressure shut down the KKK movement to a point where they have little impact on today's society.

Once you've made a portfolio, you need to talk with a credible agency. They can refer you for jobs and help you understand your options. This service can be expensive, be warned. And there are many scam artists out there. I forgot to mention: if you don't live near/in a big city you can pretty much forget it too. You won't be booked if you aren't easily accessible. Scientifically speaking, it proves nothing. It's just a noticeable trend. Science and bible-thumping are not compatible (science and religion ARE compatible...)
