IPhone help???? Please help!!!?

For some reason, now when I watch videos, go on safari, or on the facebook app, the video or whatever doesn't respond when I turn my iPhone. Normally, when I turn my iPhone in a ninety degree angle, the video usually does the same so that I don't have to watch an inside down or sideways video. Now that doesn't happen and it is very annoying. There is now an icon on my status bar with a lock and an arrow circling around it. I don't know if that it has anything to do with my problem but it was never there before and it looks suspicious. Is there a way to fix this problem and how? The gyroscope seems to work in games when I have to move around by tilting, though...... Thanks for helping!
