LGBT: Why should we have to come out?

Coming out is unnecessary. Since when do straight dudes come out as straight? They don't. Why should you have to announce to the world something that the other side doesn't have to? That innate characteristic of yours is no more important in getting to know you as a person than what race you are or whether you are left or right handed. I don't go around telling people "I have to tell you something. I'm Mexican." or tell them that I'm left-handed. Just be yourself and they'll figure it out eventually. If you make a big deal out of it, other people will make a big deal out of it.
